“The Only Thing That Is Constant Is Change” --Heraclitus
Updates/Implications for Passage of HB-13
What does this mean for Pleasant Union?
We will have to add some classrooms. It will involve adding a second double track in specific grades so that we can meet the individual class and K-3 class average class size. The new guidelines could cause changes in some students' track assignments to meet the new state guidelines. As we have more specific information we will be communicating this to affected students' families.
Kindergarten Orientation Next Tuesday, May 9, 2017
Pleasant Union Elementary School’s Kindergarten Orientation is next Tuesday, May 9, 2017 for Rising Kindergartners and their parents from 9:30 - 11 am in the Gym/Multipurpose Room
Teacher Appreciation Week Coming Soon
Pleasant Union will hold teacher and staff appreciation week May 8th - 17th. This is a wonderful opportunity to show the PUE staff what a fabulous job they do! Be on the lookout for a flyer with details about daily activities for that week, or go to http://www.puepta.com/staff-appreciation-week.html to find out more.
Muffins for Moms
On Friday, May 12th, the PTA invites students to bring their moms to school to enjoy an early Mother's Day treat together! Muffins, juice and coffee will be served in the cafeteria from 8:00 - 8:45 am. Go to http://www.puepta.com/rsvp.html to RSVP for the event. In order to have plenty of food and drinks for everyone, we must have an accurate number of how many guests to expect. If Mom is not available, you are welcome to bring another adult with you. Please RSVP by Wednesday, May 10th.

Robert Snidemiller, Sr, Director of Transportation
Dear Parents of Pleasant Union Elementary School
- We are excited to announce that student transportation information can now be found in one single location, Home Base, also known as Powerschool. In order to provide the highest level of customer service to our families we are asking those of you who do not yet have a Powerschool account to stop by the school office to complete the necessary form. You can find more information at www.wcpss.net/student-information.
Once you have a Powerschool account, look for the transportation tab to see your student’s transportation status and type. If your student is a bus rider, stop and route information is also provided.

First things first! We have an easy way for you to raise money ONLINE by having your very own fundraising page. Simply click on this link to go to the Pleasant Union Elem Jump Rope for Heart site!
You may already be hearing your student talk about the Zoo Crew Ecard Challenge! This is a creative way for your student to choose a heart healthy habit to start doing today! By using the Zoo Crew Ecard Challenge your student will challenge others to do the same and help them reach their fundraising goal.
Once you have your fundraising page, login to your HeadQuarters to get started.
1. Take the Zoo Crew Ecard Challenge and pass it on to 10 friends! Your student will earn their very own Rory’s Zoo Crew Badge! Your teacher has them now.
