If you need information or a referral to a community partner for holiday assistance please contact Beth Cathcart at 502-633-6082. You may also stop in the office during school hours (7:30AM-3:00PM) or email me at: beth.cathcart@shelby.kyschools.us.
The deadline for referrals from the Southside Family Resource Center is Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Southside will only be referring Southside families to one community partner for assistance. If you have already signed up for assistance you will not be eligible.
The following are a list of programs that provide assistance with holiday gifts that Southside will be referring to:
Mrs. Claus Closet:
Provides new and gently used toys at a FREE Toy Store on December 8th from 9:00am -11:00am at the Church of Latter Day Saints on Mt. Eden Road. Parents can come and select gifts for their children, no income eligibility required.
Simpsonville Baptist Church Christmas Store:
Provides parents with an opportunity to shop for their child’s gifts and pay (on average) 10% of retail. Parents can purchase bikes, toys, clothing, gift cards, and more for their child. The Christmas Store will operate on December 15th, 2018, at the Simpsonville Baptist Church activity building on Hwy 60. Reservations are required for shopping appointments. Parents can request an invitation from their school Family Resource or Youth Services Center. Free stocking stuffers and gift wrapping will be provided.
