Peek At The Week!
Week of 9/16/19
Principal's Message...
Well it certainly was a busy, first full week of school! The events of the week surely highlighted a need to strengthen some systems for safety and our safety committee will be meeting soon to discuss what those next steps will be. Thank you to EVERYONE for executing a very challenging lockdown event on Friday. The superintendent was very impressed with how each and every teacher and staff member conducted the response and I concur.
Building strong relationships and trust is a key goal of focus and nurturing a positive school culture is a priority because neither organizational learning, nor professional learning communities can endure without trust- trust between teachers and administrators, among teachers and between teachers and parents. Collaboration and strong communication must be emphasized because research indicates it has great impact on student achievement.
In effort to strengthen communication, I have created a Google Classroom, PDES Faculty and Staff 2019-20 SY. Please take a minute to join using the code- dv0zvt . Our classroom will be just another way for us to communicate and capture our work together.
Trust is not something that can be dictated. It is environmental and creating an atmosphere where people feel supported, safe to take risks, and empowered to make change, is necessary for innovation and will promote excellence in education for all.
Wishing everyone a great week!
~Kim
