Lots of News!

Check out the cool picture above! Mrs. Cutchins' class made a food web in a creative and kinesthetic way!

Teacher Appreciation Week

May 4-8 is Teacher Appreciation Week! PTO has surprises lined up for you as well as duty free lunch each day (except Tuesday). Teaching is definitely one of the toughest careers a person can choose and you all do an exceptional job for your students on a daily basis. Our kiddos are lucky to have each of you in their lives!

Early Release Day Plan

For Tuesday's early release day, the plan is for teachers to have time to work as a grade level to plan for this last month of instruction--interventions, acceleration, test taking strategies etc. for students so they have the opportunity to do their best on TRC and EOGs. Use the data collected from the released test results and Reading 3D progress monitoring to guide your discussions.

Congratulations to Stephanie Patton!

Our very own Stephanie Patton was chosen to be a Discovery Place STEM Fellow for the upcoming year. She will have incredible professional development opportunities focused on how to increase STEM in the classroom and she's promised to share what she learns with us! The link to the Hendersonville Lightning article about Mrs. Patton is included below. Way to go Mrs. Patton!!!!!!

Thank You!

Thank you to Kelley Cranford, Liz Barbour, Jackie Jones, Heather Kennedy and Stephanie Patton for helping PTO by covering a shift at Belk to sell Charity Sale Day tickets. I know everyone is busy, but it means a lot you all took time out of your busy schedules to help PTO.

Energy Management

Now that the air conditioning is running in the building, we move to the cooling season energy management requirements which means blinds should now be turned so they slant towards the window instead of slanting in to the classroom. Please make sure your blinds are correct each day when you leave.

You all are doing a great job making sure lights, computers and monitors, printers, etc. are turned off at the end of each day. Thank you for helping the school system save money!
