The Hungate Echo
Sherburn Hungate Weekly News - Issue 4
A word from Mr Broom
It's been a very busy week in school. Of course, our Y6 children have been out at Low Mill (Wensleydale) on their residential, so it's been rather quiet without Miss Sowden, Mrs Allen-Warren and especially Mr Wooffindin. I visited the group for dinner on Tuesday evening and the roast beef and Yorkshire puddings were going down a storm. That day, the group had been abseiling, gorge-walking and kayaking; they made light work of dinner!
Meanwhile back at school, it's been business as usual. It's been lesson observations week for the teachers. This is where I visit lessons on a formal basis to look at the quality of teaching and learning. It was an absolute pleasure to see so many wonderful learning experiences being enjoyed by the children, who were all keen to share their work with me. Teaching is a strength at our school and it's only getting stronger!
Finally, we ventured to the top of the school drive to watch the cycling world championships fly by. It was a wonderful experience, even if it was over in a flash.
Have a lovely weekend.
