ACES Family Update
Published by Anderson-Crawford Elementary August 14, 2022
Change is in the Air
I see that the title for this newsletter is even more applicable now than it was in May. While in May we were up to our necks in planning, now we are diving into the execution phase of the school consolidation and we are so excited!
You may have seen that PowerSchool had a placement for your child in the last few days, and, as it notes on the sign in page, these lists are constantly changing. I urge you to use caution in talking to your child about their teacher or possible classmates as these could very well change. We are constantly updating a balancing classes as we adjust to enrollment. Your child's placement will be finalized for the August 16 Meet and Greet from 4:30-5:30. Bring their school supplies and meet the teacher!
We are excited that many parents will have one school to visit during dismissal rather than two. We have prepared the dismissal procedures for our students, and you will receive a placard with the information. These placards should be displayed on your dashboard so that the dismissal duty standers are able to see who they need to call. We will get your child to you safely and as quickly as possible in the car line.
If you are parking and coming to the flag pole to meet your child, please recognize that the staff is very busy attending to the safety of many students. If you would like to conference with the teacher you need to make an appointment so that the teacher is able to give you the attention you deserve at a quiet time. Please exit the area after your child joins you.
Please be patient as this is new for many. Here are the dismissal procedures for K-1 and here are the dismissal procedures for 2-5. Since K-1 students will go with their older siblings to be dismissed from the gym, we need your help to identify those relationships. Please fill out the form here to let us know which K-1 students have older siblings. Thanks!
For those who will ride the bus don't miss our bus orientation during the Meet and Greet!
We have come to these procedures after consulting with EAFB Safety, the PTO, the School Liaison Officer and staff. We are committed to keeping everyone safe and accounted for. There is a map forthcoming, as well. Stay tuned!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
See you in the car line!
