Cultural Differences

Greece
In my short time here in Greece I have seen a world of cultural differences compared to what I am accustomed to in the United States. The difference that has struck me the most is the large quantity of Greece individuals who speak English. In the United States I am accustomed to primarily hearing and speaking one language with a small minority being capable of having a good grasp on another language. The idea of only needing to know one language is so prominent in the United States that we are angered when anyone comes to the states and doesn't speak perfect English even if its not their first language. In contrast here in Greece it seems that the majority of Greeks have a grasp of English and are very willing to speak English despite it not being their country's language.
