Blaze Bulletin
Edition 21 Week of March 5
Greetings...
Dear teachers,
I can't even imagine the heartache at Marshall County (see below) and at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. However, I know our concern and caring really matters. Thank you for your action - your part in contributing to Marshall County.
Also, coming up on March 14, we will have a student walkout to allow our students to express their concern for the Florida victims and to express their desire for action to make schools safe. We are working with a group of student leaders to make this a valuable lesson in Civics for them. We know that we have diverse students with diverse opinions. We value them all and intend for March 14th to be peaceful and impactful to our students. The students want to do a collection or a sale of MSD Strong t-shirts; the proceeds of either will go to the victims, their families, first responders, and/or the memorial the school is building to honor their fallen students. I'm so proud of our students for thinking of others. They embody the spirit of action that is Blackman. We will be sending out information soon so you will know what to expect on March 14.

New state law prohibits phone use in school zones
Parents: New state law prohibits phone use in school zones
Tennessee enacted a new law beginning in January that prohibits the use of cell phones by drivers in school zones. The new law states: "It is an offense to use a hand-held mobile telephone to make or receive a phone call while driving a motor vehicle in a marked school zone." We are sending this information to parents because we realize many of you may not be aware of this new law, which can lead to a citation and fine by law enforcement. READ MORE

Reminders
- Due to the vast majority of testing being online this year, the computer labs are in high demand. Here is some important information in regards to them:
- If the labs are blocked out for Admin or testing they are in use, even though they may look empty, due to software installations/updates, etc. that has to be done.
- All computer lab doors should be closed and locked when not in use. There should be no unsupervised students in any computer lab at any time.
- Computer Labs and COWS: Please make sure that you are cleaning up the computer lab after use. This includes putting trash in the trash can, making sure students are logged off, cleaning off whiteboards, plugging in laptops, and plugging in the laptop carts to charge. Remember you find any issues with computers please submit a work order to bhswo@rcschools.net
- Office Printers and Canon Copiers: Please remember to make your copies on the Canon Copier or Riso on not the Lexmark printers.
