A Week in Review

Reading: This week we focused on non-fiction text features and structures.

Math: In math, we worked on writing expressions and equations from real-world scenarios. We also solved the equations using the inverse operation.

We began our Informational Writing Piece this week on teen activism.

Science: This week we started presenting our Extreme Weather presentations. Students are practicing active listening by taking notes while students are presenting.

Social Studies: We began our research on the geography of our ancient civilizations.

Genius Hour: We are wrapping up Round 1 of our Genius Hour projects! Blogs to follow!

Kinder Buddies: This week we progress monitored our Kinder Buddies! They celebrated the growth their kinder buddies have made throughout the year!

A Peek Into Next Week

AR: Next week wraps up 2nd quarter! Students need to be at 100% of their AR goal by Friday, January 22nd!

Math: In math we will be completing our Unit 2 (Expressions, Equations, and Inequalities). Post-test on Equations will be next Friday, January 22nd.

Student Led Conferences: Next week we will be preparing for student-led conferences. Our conferences are February 11th and 12th (A conference form is being sent home today in Friday Folders)!


After school Programs start next week!

No School Monday, January 18th, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Return conference forms Tuesday, January 19th!

End of 2nd Quarter is Friday, January 22nd!
