FJVD Athletic Program

Father John V. Doyle School has always enjoyed a robust athletic program! Our banners in the gymnasium boast of championships - many of them under the coaching of Principal Bob McDermott, among talented others! We have won division and state titles for: Cross Country, Girls Junior Basketball, Boys Junior Basketball, Girls Grammar Basketball, Boys Grammar Basketball, Junior Soccer, and Grammar Soccer.

This year, we would love to add Volleyball to our list of accolades! We have a veteran team of students from grade 8 who have played together for the past 2 years, plus some new students from grades 6 and 7 to create a second team. We are grateful to our coaches who are joining us for the 2019 season. Coach Jackie Tousignant is returning as Head Coach, assisted by her mom and our own Mrs. Laboissonniere! The coaching staff will be rounded out by Jackie's brother, John, FJVD Class of 2017.

We are also looking forward to getting outside after the cold winter weather to enjoy Soccer on our home field at Fish Hill. Our grammar team consists of a talented group of students who have been playing together for a few years now under Coach Brian LeClair. Our younger team is made up of students from grades 4 and 5. We expect great things from them! Coach Alicia Simas, who has assisted Coach LeClair for the past few years, is moving into the role of Head Coach for the junior team and will be assisted by Coach Jonathan Teoli.

Many thanks to our coaching staff from fall and winter seasons:

Cross Country - Coach Brian Blissmer

Boys Basketball - Coach Doug DeCubellis, Coach Jay Osenkowski, and Coach Matt Randall

Girls Basketball - Coach David Doyle

We are so very grateful to all of these individuals who have given so much of their time and talent to the development of our students' skills in athletics and to fostering the value of good sportsmanship!

Thank you & GO SAINTS!
