Back to School Night

Back to School Night is Tuesday, August 8th from 5:00-7:00 PM. You can bring your child's supplies, meet your child's teacher and tour the building. We will have a few bus drivers here who can help you with your child's bus number and times of drop off and pick up. You will be able to put money in your child's lunch account. If you have an incoming kindergartener, you can bring a copy of your child's immunizations, birth certificate and proof of residency if you have not already done so. If you are new to Andrews, we also need a proof of residency. We look forward to seeing everyone that night. It is a great way to kick off the new school year!

Safety Reminders

  • All visitors need to bring their driver's license when they come in the building. We scan your license and give you a visitor's badge to wear while you are in the building.
  • We also will check your ID if you come to pick up a child during school hours or are new to carpool. Please don't be offended. It is a way to keep the students safe.
  • Classroom doors will remain locked throughout the day. This includes the gym and cafeteria.
  • Outside doors will remain locked at all times. If you need to come into the school, go to door 1 and ring the buzzer.
  • We have over 30 cameras inside and outside our building.
  • We require background checks for any parent or guardian who wants to attend a field trip or help in the classroom.
  • We will have monthly fire, tornado and/or ALICE drills. We will send home more information about ALICE drills in the September newsletter.
  • Due to safety and COVID, we do not allow lunch or recess visitors.
  • All birthday treats need to be from an "approved" kitchen such as Walmart or Kroger. We cannot take homemade treats.
  • Please send water bottles for your child just as we have the past few years due to COVID. Please do not send anything other than water in the bottles. Red liquids stain furniture and carpet and are really sticky if they spill. Water is the healthiest and best choice.

Thank you for your help keeping all of our students and staff safe each day. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Ms. Rudolf in the office at 260-786-3021.

YOUR SCOUTING ADVENTURE AWAITS

Adventure is at the heart of Scouting. Whether it's learning new skills or exploring your community during den meetings, racing your pinewood

derby car and having fun as a family, we believe every adventure helps uncover a little more about ourselves. We build the foundation to

humility and compassion-strengthening character through actions — preparing youth to become future leaders.

Scouting is for Boys and Girls in Grades K to age 20. Watch your child's take-home folder in August/September for an invitation to a scouting information event. Like us on Facebook - Wabash Valley District, AWAC, BSA and watch for a scouting event near you. Go to BEASCOUT.ORG to find a scout unit near you. Contact Steve Higgins 260 710-5637 or steven.higgins@scouting.org for more information.
