Shark FIN Bulletin
November Edition, 2019
Good morning Sugar Creek Families,
We are well into our 2nd nine weeks of school. It's hard to believe how quickly this year is passing! Our school year continues to be successful, as our students are working hard in the classrooms. Our students are well versed with the routines of the classroom and the school. This type of order and smoothness in our daily routines helps our students learn at an optimal level. Our administrative team visits classrooms daily and is able to be part of classroom discussions and visit with the students in their learning environment. This is a great way to see our students in action and to build positive relationships with students and teachers.
At Sugar Creek, we emphasize daily the importance of treating each other with kindness and respect. Our three Shark Strong character traits are integrity, respect and kindness which aligns with our No Place for Hate culture. Throughout the school day, we see our students practice and demonstrate these traits.
The area in which we are not seeing these traits displayed consistently is on the bus. One major area that continues to be a concern is student behavior while riding the bus. Some examples of inappropriate bus behavior include: moving around the bus while the bus is in motion, hitting and using profanity. Parents, we need your help! Please talk with your child about their bus behavior and emphasize the importance of good behavior on the bus. When a bus driver reports inappropriate behavior on the bus, our administrative team investigates and handles the discipline from the bus reports. We have noticed an increase in poor choices and behaviors from many of our students who ride the bus. We encourage you to talk with your child and discuss the importance of maintaining control on the bus for everyone's safety.
Thank you for your support!
