Panther Nation Newsletter #10
October 30, 2020 #PANTHERSTRONG
Message from the Principal
This is the first week of the second nine weeks. Our students "switched classes" seamlessly and are off and running. I'm feeling really good about what our students learned about themselves (and what our teachers learned about teaching in this new fashion) during the first 45 days of school. Having some students in-person and some remote (while about 80-100 are online) is a juggling act for us to be sure. We have a lot of balls in the air right now, but I'm very pleased with our collective ability to adapt.
We continue to hear great feedback from you all regarding our preparation and planning as we deal with the pandemic. That's certainly gratifying to hear, and we thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We love seeing our ideas and plans work out for our kids.
Students who still have assignments to re-work from first nine weeks have until November 6th to turn those demonstrations of learning into their 1st quarter teachers for grading. After that, the next opportunity will be during summer school. Let's clean those classes up and stay on top of your second nine week courses. Remember, this nine weeks will end on January 15th.
I’m sure the "snow day" on Monday (and no remote learning) may have caught you by surprise. I want you to know that the district office spoke with us over the weekend and felt strongly that, in retrospect, we all would’ve appreciated the opportunity for a little lengthier break last week. This snow gave us a chance to make the weekend a four day respite.
And since Tuesday was the first day of the nine weeks, it was much better for our students to have the opportunity to be with teachers in person (with teachers in the building). We felt like it made the most sense to delay the start of the nine weeks until Tuesday.
Moving forward, all future snow days will be remote. Here's looking forward to more snow and the badly needed moisture for our state and region. Until next week.

Order Your Senior Supplies!!
Seniors! Jostens will be back for ONE FINAL order day at school to collect your orders for Graduation Announcements, Cap & Gown, and Class Rings. They will be here on Wednesday, November 4th during both lunches in the Commons. Make sure you stop by the Main Office to pick up an ordering packet if you haven’t already done so. You can also place your order online if you wish. Please order now, as later orders will cost more, and several items will no longer be available. The deadline to order with the group is November 15 and due to COVID restrictions, this may be the last chance Jostens will be on campus!!!
1-ALL SENIORS NEED TO PURCHASE A CAP & GOWN THIS YEAR. YOU CANNOT WEAR ONE FROM THE PAST AS THEY WILL BE DIFFERENT AND WON’T MATCH
2-Look through the catalog to find items you would like to celebrate your graduation. Most seniors will send graduation announcements to notify friends and family of graduation. Note - most will send presents! Pick other items to celebrate your senior year (t-shirts/hoodies/sweatpants/beanies/etc)
3-Class Rings – go to www.jostens.com to design your custom class ring. Print the order form and bring it on the 4th.
If you have any questions, please contact our Jostens representative at joe.adducci@jostens.com.
