September 30th, 2018 #Work Hard, Poupard!
Dear Poupard Families,
Dear Poupard Families,
I'm proud to say that Poupard's Evacuation Drill which was held on Thursday, September 27th went smoothly. Our students were outstanding as we transitioned to our evacuation site. They were patient and polite to the workers at Harper Woods Library and received glowing praise from them in return.
Conferences
Conferences are right around the corner!! They will be held on October 10 and 11. Teachers have emailed a signup genius to their families so they can select a time slot. Our goal is 100% participation for parent teacher conferences. You will be receiving additional opportunities to signup leading up to conferences. Click here to sign up!
Realtors Open House
All of Grosse Pointe Schools will be opening their doors on October 14th from 1:00-3:00 for our annual Realtors Open House. This is a great opportunity for prospective families to visit our buildings and learn more about all of the great things our schools have to offer. Each year, new families enroll their learners into our district following the Realtors Open House which leads to increased revenue for our district to allocate towards resources for student learning.
Please be sure to share this date with your neighbors and individuals that may be considering sending their students to our amazing schools.
Staying Healthy
Cold and Flu season are here! Approximately 5-20 percent of Americans will develop the flu. We want your learner feeling their best so please be sure to remind and assist them in doing the following:
- Wash their hands
- Keep hands away from eyes and nose
- Get plenty of rest (8-10) hours a night
- Eat healthy food "assists with immune system"
- Play outside! "enhances immune system function"
- Sneeze and cough on sleeve instead of hands
- Stay hydrated
Please remember to keep learners at home if they are experiencing a FEVER. Students can’t learn well when they are ill and may put other students and the staff are at risk for also becoming ill. Please keep your learner at home until they are feeling better and are fever free for 24 hours without fever medicine. Call the school office so we know the reason your learner is absent. If your learner is not improving, please call their medical provider. We want all students feeling their best self.

Spirit Day
Every Friday is a school spirit day where we all wear our Green Poupard t-shirts. New families, please let your child's teacher know if they haven't received one yet.
Thanks for partnering with Poupard in your child's learning!
