Senior Information Needed
- Transcripts - make sure you let Mrs. Ingram know of any colleges you have applied for. Sending transcripts is a part of the college application process. Even if you were able to self report your transcript, you still need to let us know you self reported the transcript. The colleges will need your final official transcript at the end of the year. Those have to come from our office!
- Graduation information - make sure you have ordered your graduation attire and verified how you want your name written on your diploma. See Mrs. Wildermuth in the front office with questions.
- Scholarships you receive - Please stop by the counseling center and let Mrs. Ingram know what scholarships you have received. Students are honored for their scholarships at Honors Night and the list is also sent to the newspaper.

NPS Foundation Scholarships
The Norfolk Public Schools Foundation is offering several local scholarships to Norfolk High graduating seniors! By completing one application form you can apply for many scholarships. The due date for all applications is March 20th at 4:00 pm. You will find all instructions, more information, and the application form when you go to the NPS Foundation Page on the NPS District website.
To apply:
- Complete the application form on the NPS website. Make sure you fill in all required fields and mark the scholarships you would like to be considered for.
- Transcripts are required. Contact the counseling center for an official transcript.
- Some Scholarships require essays and/or letters of recommendation. Refer to the individual scholarship description for all requirements.
- If you are applying for scholarships where financial need is part of the criteria, then you must complete the FAFSA and include the “Student Aid Report Summary” with your application. You should receive this within 4 days after submitting the FAFSA online or 3 weeks if you apply by mail.
- The entire application is online this year and will need to be submitted digitally.

NCEA Scholarships
Northeast Community College Scholarships
1. General Scholarships - online at www.northeast.edu/scholarships. Select "Online Scholarship Application". log in as a first time user to create an account to complete the scholarship application online. That single application will be used to consider students for all Northeast scholarships except those that indicate a separate application. Application is open until March 1st.
2. Board of Governors Merit - The Board of Governors Merit Scholarship is based on academic achievement as demonstrated on the students ACT, COMPASS, or Accuplacer test scores (ACT composite of 23 or higher, Compass minimum: College Algebra 56; Reading 91; Writing 92, or Accuplacer minimum: College Level 63; Reading 102; Sentence Skills 104). The award is for full tuition for a maximum of four consecutive academic semesters (fall & spring terms only) for a student starting college in the fall term and who graduated from high school the previous May. Click here for more information. Complete the Application and return it to the NECC financial aid office by March 1st.
3. President's Scholarship for Early Entry Students - The President’s Scholarship is based on academic achievement and completion of at least one Northeast college credit class while in high school with an accumulated GPA of 3.0 or higher for all college classes. The award is for one-half tuition over four consecutive academic semesters (fall & spring terms only) for a student starting college in the fall term and who graduated from high school the previous May. Click here for more information. Complete the Application (same as Board of Governors Merit) and return it to the NECC financial aid office by March 1st.
The Nebraska Academy of Sciences Scholarship
The Nebraska Academy of Sciences sponsors a number of scholarships each year for High School seniors planning to attend Colleges or Universities in the State of Nebraska. Scholarships vary from $100 - $1,000. The scholarships offered require a scholarship application summary as well as supporting information in the form of essays, transcripts, testimonial letters from 2-3 supervisors or teachers, and list of activities and/or related accomplishments. Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska Foundation
The Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska Foundation is not accepting applications for 3 Memorial Scholarships (Chet Linder, Jay Jacupke, and the IIA of Omaha) each in the amount of $1,000. It is required that the applicant intend to major in business or a business-related field. Selection of the scholarship winner will be based on scholastic application, as well as participation and leadership in school, community activities, and educational goals. The applications must be postmarked by March 1st.
UNO Goodrich Scholarship
The Goodrich Scholarship Program application period opened October 1, 2016 and closes March 1, 2017 at 5:00PM (CST). Applicants can apply online at https://goodrich.fluidreview.com/. Unofficial high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores are directly uploaded by the applicant in their Goodrich application account.
For convenience, please note that the EPPE is now offered online. Directions for this process can be reviewed at http://www.unomaha.edu/enrollment-management/testing-center/placement-exams/english-placement-proficiency-exam.php. Applicants must have their UNO NetID credentials (username and password) to register for this free exam. The FINAL EPPE date that will be accepted by Goodrich applicants is February 25. Because the EPPE is now offered online, we will only offer the in person and on campus EPPE exam 3 times (February 11, 24 and 25). The February 24 exam will have limited seats.
Goodrich Scholarship Application Checklist and Instructions
Digital arts, Film and Animation Competition
for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students
9th -12th graders can participate, and winners in each category can win a cash prize of $250. Students who enter must:
- Be deaf or hard of hearing
- Be in 9th-12th grade at time of entry
- Complete and submit the following online:
- verification that his or her work is original and that no copyrighted materials are used in the submission
- permission to participate form filled out by parent or guardian
- recommendation from a sponsoring teacher and confirmation that the student's work is original.
- copy of the student's high school transcript by email or postal mail
- a 150 - 300 word descriptive essay of the processes used in their project.
2017 MAYNARD JENSEN AMERICAN LEGION MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM from the American Legion
1.Applicants must be sons or daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, adopted or stepchildren of members of Department of Nebraska, The American Legion or POW, MIA, KIA, or any veteran that was a current Legion member at time of death.
2. Applicants must be a high school graduate or be earning sufficient credits to graduate from high school at the conclusion of the spring 2017 semester, or be enrolled full time in a Nebraska post-secondary institution as of March 1, 2017, application deadline date.
3. Applicants must be enrolled or in the process of being enrolled full time in an accredited NEBRASKA institution of higher education to include university, college, or technical school, public or private.

Central Valley Ag Scholarships
The goal of these scholarships is to assist in providing an education in an agriculture related field. CVA will offer 15 $1000 scholarships.
The first consideration of the applicant is that the parents or guardian of the applicant is a current stockholder of Central Valley Ag, or one of the parents or guardians is an employee of Central Valley Ag. This scholarship is limited to current high school graduating seniors. The applicant must be entering college in an agricultural related degree. The applicant should be enrolled in any a post-secondary (trade school, community college, college or university) institution the immediate semester following high school graduation.
