The olympics
Did you know that Ancient Greece started the Olympic Games? Actually, the first games took place three thousand years ago. At first the games only had one sport. That sport was racing. Eventually they got other games but nothing as modern as today's sports. Also, no woman could play in the games because they had there own games worshipping Hera. Back then they had no gold, silver or bronze for awards. They used olives. The olives they had were picked from a sacred olive tree next Zeus's temple . They picked them there because the games were made in honor of Zeus

Greek gods
The Greek gods are what the Geek believed in. Here are a few: Athena, Poseidon, Ares Aphrodite, Hera, Artemis, Hades, Apollo, Hephaestus and Hesta. Athena was a strong and graceful goddess. Her birth was one of the weirdest out of all the gods. She came out of her father's head. This happened because her father ate her mother because she was a mortal and she was pregnant. Then Athena came out of her father Zeus's head fully grown and fully armored. She was a warrior. She was the goddess of military, wisdom and creativity. Poseidon was the god of the sea. He is the brother of Zeus and Hades. Poseidon also has a Triton. Then there is Hades, god of the underworld and death. He also is the brother of Zeus and of corse Poseidon. Hades is married to Persephone, the queen of the underworld. There also was Hesta the goddess of home and family. She was one of the kindest gods there ever was. In addition, she was the oldest. Then finally there is Zeus the god of the sky and the ruler of all the gods. He was marred to Hera. That is only some of the gods.
