To: Peter Noyes Community

From: Peter Noyes Food Pantry Committee

Date for release: IMMEDIATELY

Event: Sudbury Food Pantry will be holding an additional Food Drive to prepare for the upcoming increase in visitors to the Sudbury Food Pantry

When: THIS SATURDAY, 3/27/21, 1pm - 2:30pm

Where: Our Lady of Fatima (also known as Ascension Parish) parking lot, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury

This week the Sudbury Food Pantry announced an update to their policy for distribution. As described below, effective immediately, ANYONE may visit the Sudbury Food Pantry, open to both Sudbury AND Non-Sudbury Residents. The board of the Sudbury Community Food Pantry has updated their eligibility policy:

Effective immediately, anyone -- no matter where they reside -- may visit the Pantry once a week.

(The original policy, in place since the Pantry opened in 1990, enabled Sudbury residents to visit twice a month and non-Sudbury residents once a month.)

The change acknowledges the increase in food insecurity exacerbated by the pandemic and is made possible because of the generosity of supporters and volunteers. Thank you!

The donations are desperately needed from our community. While the past twelve months have been challenging for many families, the Sudbury Community Food Pantry is receiving fewer contributions while serving more families. Its resources are being exhausted and the community is the most consistent and most compassionate resource it relies up for replenishment.

Please consider dropping items off this Saturday, specifically from this list:

  • Tomato products (sauce, diced, paste)
  • Boxed Rice
  • Cereal
  • Tomato Soup, Progresso soup
  • Condiments (salad dressing, ketchup, mustard)
  • Canned Beans (black, garbanzo, baked)
  • Baking items (cake & brownie mix, oil, flour, sugar)
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Snacks (full size crackers, cookies, chips)
  • Boxed Meals (Hamburger Helper, taco shells)
  • Pasta
  • Tuna

We appreciate your help in stocking their shelves and feeding our community!!
