2019-2020 Student Registration
We will continue to utilize our online registration portal via the Powerschool Parent Site. Registration fees will also be available to pay online through Powerschool at registration time. If you need your parent login credentials reset you can contact your site secretary on August 12, when the online registration portal will be open.
If you prefer to come in to receive assistance with registration or have questions, we have a set registration date of August 13, 2019. We will hold registration in the WHS Gym/Commons.
Your registration will not be complete until the Free & Reduced Lunch application has been finished and submitted to the school.
There will be a mandatory student orientation for all WHS & SMS Students. There will be 2 available sessions so you can select which time works best for you and your student. August 13th at 6 pm or August 15th at 12:15 pm. Both of these will be held in the WHS Gym.
Changes Made to 2019-2020 Fees
- Wrangell High School will no longer charge for an activity card or for travel fees prior to each traveling event. The activity fee will cover those costs at the beginning of the sport. Wrangell High School & Stikine Middle School are no longer doing book & lock deposits. Students will be charged for any missing/damaged locks and/or books at student checkout at the end of the school year. Students will also be charged for any laptop damage accordingly. Students will not be checked out until all fees (including lunch balances) are paid for upon the end of the school year.
- Stikine Middle School no longer has a technology deposit that is eligible for refund. It will now be a non-refundable fee. This is largely due to the amount of damage we are seeing in returned Chromebooks.
Wrangell High School Activities
- Wrangell High School athletes who make it to state will be responsible for fundraising or paying $350 PRIOR to going to State. If a student decides to opt out of fundraising for the state fee, there is a promisory note that will be signed by the student and their guardian ensuring payment of the fee.
- Upon reviewing neighboring schools’ fees for their athletes, we opted to mirror their setup. The following fees are in effect at area schools. See image below.
Gaming
Wrangell Public School District has created a partnership with the Wrangell Chamber of Commerce in order to continue to fundraise for activities via gaming. There will be a few requirements for advisors/coaches to adhere to in order for this to run smoothly:
- All raffle requests will need to be submitted via the Fundraising Application Form online at least 2 weeks prior to the requested start date of the raffle.
- If there is an item that is being raffled, it will need to be donated directly to the Chamber.
- All unsold tickets must be returned to the Chamber office prior to the drawing being held.
- All checks must be made out the Wrangell Chamber of Commerce.
- Wrangell Public Schools will retain 85% of proceeds while the Chamber of Commerce will retain 15% for processing/bookkeeping fees.
