Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 10 | 21 SEPTEMBER 2022
This term Year 4s have been preparing for the Sacrament of Eucharist. The students have participated together in a Retreat Day, Eucharist candle decorating and have learnt about the Consecration and the parts of Mass. Congratulations to all the Year 4 candidates who celebrated their First Holy Communion over the weekend.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you to all our staff, students and families for embracing a term filled with many learning and extra-curricular opportunities to grow and learn.
Tomorrow is a public holiday, and Friday is the final day of school for this term. Friday is a day filled with many fun activities. We will start the day with a liturgy to celebrate Mercy Day. We will then hold our Mercy Day stalls to raise money for the charities that Father Sam supports.
Thereafter those children who had ordered a sausage sizzle for our Athletics' Carnival, will have this for lunch and then we will conclude the day with our P&F Colour Run.
I trust that you will all have a good rest over the holidays so that the children return refreshed and ready for the final term of this year.
As we reflect on Mercy Day, we remember Catherine McAuley who broke the impossibilities of her time. She connected the rich to the poor, the healthy to the sick, the educated and skilled to the uninstructed, the influential to those of no consequence, to do the work of God on earth. We ask for God’s strength to do the same.
God bless you all.
Ondine Komnick
Principal
