Greetings from the Nurse’s Office
I would like to thank parents for all of their assistance with keeping kids home when they are sick during this extremely difficult flu season. We have found in the Nurse’s Office that the flu strikes quickly! Kids can be well when they go to school in the morning only to have a fever a few hours later. We are all working hard to keep our kids healthy and safe. As a reminder, a fever over 100.0 requires dismissal and 24 hours without fever reducing medication. The same 24 hours holds true with any vomiting.
We are also requesting that parents pack extra pants for their kids, since we are entering the wet season (and accidents can happen). Leggings work well for girls and sweatpants work well for boys or girls. While we do have clothes in the Nurse’s Office, sometimes we are unable to accommodate every need. Also remember that on Gym days sneakers need to be worn.
I would also like to remind the 4th grade parents who received notices that no physicals were on file, to send the most recent copy of a physical into us as soon as possible. The physical exam forms are good for one year.
Have a safe and fun filled February break!

Morning Music Selection of the Week at HES!
After the Winter Break students and staff will begin their day with the following selection...
Morning Mood is part of Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite, written in 1875 as music for Ibsen's play of the same name, and was also included as the first of four movements in Peer Gynt Suite No.1.
The piece is about the rising of the sun during act 4 of Ibsen's play, which finds Peer Gynt stranded in the Moroccan desert. The scene begins with the following description: "Dawn. Acacias and palm trees. Peer is sitting in his tree using a broken-off branch to defend himself against a group of monkeys.
Welcome back everyone!
