Staying On Track

Are you on track to finish the year where you plan? Remember, all 12 Blocks of work in each subject must be finished before you can move to the next grade level. Now is the time to work hard and catch up if necessary.

Generally, you should be working on each Block for approximately 15 school days. I try and send email reminders when you have missing written work, but ultimately it is your responsibility to stay on top of your online and offline work.

Contact me if you want more details about how to plan for the end of the year. It will be here before you know it!

Block Checklists

For your convenience, Block Checklists have been added to each subject and block in Compass. Complete all activities and worksheets in your Blocks. The assignments listed on the Block Checklists will be graded. I can see all scored activities from Compass automatically, but you must submit any worksheets, journal entries, writing assignments, spelling, and leveled reading assignments to me (through email).

Follow these instructions:
  1. Print out the checklists or save them to your computer (they can be filled out online) before you begin your work.
  2. Divide your work into a 3-week period (each Block should take approximately 15 school days).
  3. Begin working on your lessons, in order. Only move on to the next lesson when you're ready. If you score below 70%, redo the activity.
  4. Check off each assignment on the checklist as it is completed or submitted.

Are you working on your reading lessons daily on Raz-Kids?

Follow the instructions on the link below and work on a reading lesson each day for your assigned level. If you have not yet been placed on a level, email your teacher so that you can complete the assessment and receive your reading level. Spend 2-3 days per book, completing 2-3 books per week.

Reading Lesson Instructions

Submit a recording and comprehension quiz for at least three books per Block.

Websites and Worksheets

It is never my intention to send you to a worksheet or website in your lessons that
does not work. If you come across any links that won’t open for you, please let me know right away so that I can correct them.

Call Center

Call the Call Center whenever you have questions or problems relating to your equipment or software. They can help whenever you have general questions that I may not be able to help you with.
