Chapter P Granbury

November 2021

A Message From our Director-November 2021

Hello Chapter P!

Happy Fall! We had a wonderful ride with perfect weather to Big Bend last month! We’ve had great weather for riding lately and should have some good riding this month as well! We will be having our November meeting at Spring Creek BBQ Thursday, 11/11 at 7:00 pm, but come early and eat at 6:00 pm!

Chapter P hosted a First Aid/CPR course in Granbury on Saturday, October 30, 2021. An instructor from GWRRA (Lydia Borge) came from Houston to teach the course that can be credited for the Levels program. There were 2 classes with a total of 19 students getting their certification. We’re proud of those who took the course, as they did it not for themselves, but so they can help others that they may encounter needing help! Chapter P had 6 enrolled in the class, some of whom will now qualify for Level 3. This is just a start of the training that we hope to be available to our members going forward in the new year.

Our new website is now active, at www.gwrra-tx-p.org with the calendar, newsletter, photos and everything! Yahoo! We could really use a webmaster, so if you have some website experience, please give us a call! Ann is doing a great job with this, but she’s got her hands full with the newsletter and teaching, we’d love it if someone could give a hand with it! Nothing big required, just loading on the newsletter and pictures!

Again, our thanks go out to Ann Graham for doing our newsletter! She does need input from us all, if you think of an interesting subject, please write it up and send it to her at anniegraham@att.net. Thanks to Jeff Graham for stepping up and taking the position of Treasurer, he’s doing a great job! Also thanks to Eddie & Christi for planning rides and Membership Enhancement! We have other positions to fill if you are interested, i.e. Assistant CD, webmaster, and sunshine person.

Thanks to all for your participation!

We hope you are staying well and safe! Get out and ride!

Wow, November Already

Hey guys, with the cooler weather it's definitely time to get out the cold weather riding gear. There's nothing else like having a bit of cool air in your face and a curvy road I'm front of you. So here's a recap of the rides and events since our last newsletter.

October 16th- Lunch Ride to Happy Days Diner in Mineral Wells. We ended up having a combined 3 Chapter Ride. We had 12 from P, 4 from M and 6 from Chapter R. What a great day to be on a Wing. We had 22 riders on 15 bikes and or trikes. We probably filled up half the Diner. The servers were a bit overwhelmed but did a great jobs serving us with good food.

October 30th- FA/CPR class in Granbury. Christie and I weren't able to attend but we heard that a Fun and informative time was had by all.

Future Rides:

November 6th- Lunch Ride to Yesterdays 50's Diner in Bridgeport. KSU up is at 10am from RaceTrac on South Morgan in Granbury. I can't wait to get my pictures taken with Elvis Presley and Marylyn Monroe.

November 27th- Tired of Turkey Lunch Ride to Meat and Potatoes in Rio Vista. KSU is at 10 am from RaceTrac on South Morgan in Granbury.

Ride Safe and Ride Often,

Eddie and Christie

A Time of Giving

We have reached out to Mission Granbury and asked how we can help for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving they will be boxing up dinners for those in need. We have offered to collect what they needed most and that is stuffing mixes and desserts (cake mixes, pie fillings , etc.).

We will collect these this Thursday at the meeting and deliver them on Friday afternoon (the next day). Anyone who would like to ride to Mission Granbury with us on Friday can meet us at Dairy Queen for lunch at 11:30am before we deliver the donations. It would be great if we were able to deliver a couple of motorcycle trailers full of food. Hope to see you there!
