Return to School Family Survey
Earlier today all District 123 families received an email which included the opportunity to lend your voice to the start of our school year. Please make sure to complete the survey as our learning community's feedback will help District 123 continuously improve upon the student, family, and staff experience.
The Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School Forestry & Gardening Club is off to a great start! Look at all those fresh veggies going to local food pantries. Students recently spent some time at the Oak Lawn Community Garden. The club learned about growing veggies, picked over 135 pounds of produce for food pantries, and planted lettuce and radishes for a fall harvest!
Students in Sward School Kindergarten classrooms are fortunate to have many great "centers" to engage with throughout their day. Learning centers are individualized activities that allow children to manipulate materials, explore ideas, discover consequences, build, create all while having fun. So the next time your child comes home and tells you about centers, make sure to ask them more!
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities provide hands-on and minds-on active learning opportunities for each student. Second grade students are using a variety of materials to build and create different structures in their library space.
