FMS Staff News
November 17th, 2019
Dear FMS Team,
I have one challenge for you this week. Analyze your interactions with our students last week. Which went well? Which did not? Did your students leave you feeling as though they mattered? Did your relationships grow this week because of the interactions that you had with each one of them? We have done a lot of professional development on relationships. We know that they are the foundation of everything. In order for us to move forward we need to analyze our knowing and doing gap and adjust. Strong relationships don't mean there are not consequences for misbehavior. It means we deliver consequences with respect, caring and grace. Please begin your Tuesday team time on Tuesday with this challenge. I will work to join you since I will be out Thursday. I will share my own struggles as well with this in my role, because I am definitely not perfect. I look forward to learning from you all on the best ways to make this happen. Let's make it a solid goal to increase the relationships with all students, especially those that we know struggle with success, this week. Together, we can!
Have a great Sunday and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow! We've got a busy last full week before Thanksgiving Break filled with a lot of great things. Let's make it the best one of the year!
Thank you again for your individual strengths that you bring each day. We are a better school because of all of YOU!
Sincerely,
Beth
