Perseverance
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” -Confucius. This is a quote from Confucius saying that how long it takes does not matter, it matters if you finish or not. Perseverance is steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. Perseverance is important in everyday life because it helps overcome adversity.
Winston Churchill
Politically, Churchill rose and fell consistently. He was often beaten down, yet never crushed. He lost his first election, only to win it a few years latter. Happily, he was elected the one of the youngest cabinet members in history, but was later expelled from the admiralty. During World War II, he was elected Prime Minister, only to be voted out of office shortly after the war ended. Six long years later, he was again elected Prime Minister.
Thomas Edison
"If I find 10,000 ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward." Thomas Edison had been turned down many times and was rejected by lots of people, but he persevered and made hundreds of inventions.
Walt Disney
The man who gave us Disney World and Mickey Mouse. His first animation company went bankrupt. He was fired by a news editor cause he lacked imagination. Legend has it he was turned down 302 times before he got financing for creating Disney World. He then became rich by persevering through the 302 times he got turned down.

How people overcame adversity
People overcame adversity because they kept on trying. People like Beethoven did not want anything to stop them from what they love to do, in his case Beethoven lost his hearing but it did not stop him from making some of the greatest music pieces of his time.
