Yearbook Cover Contest 2022/2023
Designs are due by Friday, February 17, 2023
Think of images that represent our school for the Yearbook Cover Contest.
Here are the Basic Guidelines, please follow them carefully:
Designs will be on standard 8 ½” X 11” paper with portrait orientation
The artist’s name, grade, and teacher should be written lightly in pencil on the BACK of the artwork.
Cover designs do NOT need any words (they can be added electronically), but if words are included they MUST be spelled conventionally and the school name will be written as Mary Collins School OR Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley. If included, this school year is 2022-2023.
Color looks great and should be bright, bold, and consistent. Our official school colors are red, white and gold
If you are creating an electronic cover, you MUST use original art that you have created instead of copying and pasting existing art.
How to submit your designs:
Paper designs can be dropped off in the marked envelopes in your classroom or in the office
Placing the artwork in a folder or some other protective layer is suggested
Be sure to email Mr. Yu that it has been delivered so that he can grab it and prevent it from becoming damaged. His email is kyu@petk12.org
Digital designs can be emailed to Mr. Yu at kyu@petk12.org

Unwind with a beverage and apps as you mix and mingle with members of the PTA and Charter Fund! Our groups are looking for volunteers to serve as Board or Committee Members in the 2023-2024 school year, as well as other project opportunities throughout the year. Everyone has talent and everyone can help. Whether you can step into a President or Chair role, or are available for specific events or tasks, we want to meet you and learn what you love to do and how you can help our school continue to offer the incredible programming that we all value so much.
About Us: Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley is a public charter school, dependent on funds from the local, state, and national levels. These budgets provide the bare minimum, impacting our school’s ability to continue providing its signature charter programs (visual and performing arts, environmental education, project based multidisciplinary learning). The PTA and Charter Fund work to help bridge this gap! We know that the special programs we help fund are more than just the cherry on top of a top-notch educational experience; they are essential and probably one of the main reasons you choose to enroll your student(s) at this school.
The PTA’s mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families, by representing our members, and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership and communications. Partnering with our Charter Fund Committee, here are some of the programs and events our group sponsors/hosts to fulfill our mission:
- Charter Program Salaries: Garden Coordinators, Music (Grades 6-8), Physical Education, Social-Emotional Education and Support, and Advanced Math (Grades 6-8)
- Teacher Activity Fund (staff member/classroom supplies, books, etc.)
- Assemblies + Special Days
- Campus Infrastructure (Garden and Grounds, Theater Equipment)
- Field Trip and Enrichment Class Scholarships
- Staff Professional Development
- Grant Matching
- Community Events (Coffee Mornings, Ice Cream Social, Movie Night, Family Fun Fest, Dance and Game Night, Staff Appreciation)
- Fundraising Events (Walkathon, Variety Show, Jubilee)
- Library
- Mentor Reading Program
- Spirit Wear
