Happy Holidays from TWHS Orchestra
Welcome to the Holiday Season, also known as the busy season for TWHS Orchestra. In this newsletter you will find all the information about our Holiday Concerts please read it fully and carefully. Mr. Michaelson and Mr. Ponce would also like to take this time to wish everyone a restful Thanksgiving Break, and a very merry start to your Holiday Season!
Holiday Food Drive to benefit Interfaith of the Woodlands
We are so blessed to live and work in this wonderful community. In order to give back to our community, TWHS Orchestra will be collecting donations of cash, personal care items, and nonperishable good at our Holiday Concerts on 12/3 and 12/10. We will also be collecting at the McCullough JH Orchestra Concert on 12/8. Please see the picture below to see the exact canned goods that Interfaith is asking for.
Help us bring some joy and relief this holiday season by bringing an item or two to our concert.
November 30th and December 1st (Chamber, Concert and Mariachi Only)

Wednesday November 30th:
CONCERT AND CHAMBER STUDENTS ONLY
NO MARIACHI THIS DAY!
- 7:45 AM: Be in the Orchestra Room wearing something that says The Woodlands HS
- 8:00AM: Rehearsal
- 10:30 AM Load Buses and travel to the Pavilion for Sound Check
- 11:00 AM Uncase and tune
- 11:30 AM Sound Check on Stage
- 12:15 PM Case Up and Load Buses to go back to TWHS
- 12:45 PM Arrive TWHS
- 12:45-1:30 PM Lunch in LGI 2 (BRING A LUNCH)
- 1:30-2:30 PM Final Announcements and Run Through of the TSO Show
- 2:35 PM GO HOME
THURSDAY DECEMBER 1st:
CONCERT, CHAMBER AND MARIACHI STUDENTS ONLY
- 3:00 PM: BE IN ORCHETSRA ROOM IN ORCH TSHIRT AND JEANS WITH FORMALS IN A BAG, YOUR INSTRUMENT, AND MUSIC
- 3:15 PM: Depart TWHS for the Pavilion (ALL BACKPACKS MUST STAY AT TWHS. ONLY GARMENT BAGS AND INSTRUMENT CASES ALLOWED)
- 3:45 PM: Arrive Pavilion and Clear Security
- 4:00 PM: Sophomores and Juniors leave stuff in holding room and walk to Market Street with Mr. Ponce for Dinner (BRING $)
- 4:00 PM: Seniors and Mr. Michaelson get ready for Senior Finale Soundcheck
- 4:30-5:15 PM: Senior Finale Soundcheck
- 5:15-6:10 PM Senior Dinner in Market Street
- 5:30 PM Sophomores and Juniors walk back to pavilion and CHANGE
- 6:15 PM Seniors back and changing
- 6:15 PM Mariachi goes to North Plaza
- 6:30-6:45 PM Mariachi Performs in North Plaza
- 6:50 PM TWHS Orchestra takes the Mainstage
- 7:00 PM TWHS Orchestra PERFORMS
- 7:20 PM Seniors stay back stage, all others case up and take seats for the rest of the performance
- 8:45 PM Senior Finale
- 9:00 PM Load Buses and Depart for TWHS
- 9:15 PM GO HOME!
ALL STUDENTS MUST RIDE THE BUS TO AND FROM THE PAVILION!
Saturday December 3rd 2:30-10:00 PM
FOR STUDENTS IN CHAMBER, SYMPHONY, CAMERATA, PHILHARMONIC, MARICAHI, AND OFFICERS
Schedule:
- 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Officers Set Up and Decorate
- 2:15 PM: Chamber, Symphony, Camerata, Philharmonic, Mariachi Arrival (BRING YOUR FORMALS DO NOT WEAR THEM TO THE REHEARSAL)
- 2:30-5:30 PM: Rehearsal
- 5:30 to 6:30 PM: Dinner and Change into formals (BRING YOUR OWN or PRE-ORDER CHICKFILA on LUDUS) MUST ORDER DINNER BY WEDNESDAY 11/30/22
- McCullough Students in Sinfonietta and Philharmonic will arrive during this time, and and warmup on stage
- 6:30 PM: Go to assigned rooms, tune and warmup
- 7:00 PM: Concert Starts (McC will play as part of the main show)
CELLOS MUST BRING THEIR OWN INSTRUEMNT TO THIS CONCERT!
ALL CASES AND BAGS MUST HAVE THE STUDENT'S NAME ON IT
AFTER THE CONCERT ALL STUDENTS MUST HELP CLEAN UP. STUDENTS WILL SIGN OUT AFTER THE CONCERT ONCE THE STAGE AND ALL ROOMS ARE CLEAR, CLEAN, AND ORGANIZED!
Students in ROTC can leave after they have played their main portion of the concert to attend the military ball. Mr. Michaelson will tell students where this is for each group.
Choir Holiday Concert: FOR CHAMBER ORCHESTRA STUDENTS ONLY
DECEMBER 5TH REHEARSAL, DECEMBER 6TH CONCERT
· Monday Dec 5 3:30-5:30 PM Choir Dress Rehearsal at Christ Church
· Tuesday Dec 6th 7-9 PM Choir Concert Call is at 7:00 PM in the choir room of Christ Church
WEAR YOUR FORMALS TO THE CONCERT!
Saturday December 10TH 2:30 to 10 PM
FOR STUDENTS IN CHAMBER AND CONCERT (OTHER STUDENTS NOT REQUIRED)
Schedule:
- 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Officers Set Up and Decorate
- 2:00 PM: Chamber and Concert Arrival (BRING YOUR FORMALS DO NOT WEAR THEM TO THE REHEARSAL)
- 2:15-5:00 PM: Rehearsal
- 5:00- 6:00 PM: Dinner and Change into formals (BRING YOUR OWN or PRE-ORDER CHICKFILA on LUDUS) MUST ORDER DINNER BY WEDNESDAY 12/7/22
- Mitchell Students will arrive around 5 PM
- 5:50 PM Take seats in auditorium to watch Mitchel Perform
- 6:00 PM Mitchell Intermediate Performs
- 6:50 PM: Go to assigned rooms, tune and warmup
- 7:00 PM: Concert Starts
