Cameron Drama Update
Fall 2019 -- Lion King, Tableau, Monologues & More...
Open House
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the gym to visit. Drama Classes and Cameron Drama Company are having a terrific start to the year!
6th Grade Drama & World Music
6th Grade Drama students have learned about Parts of the Stage, The Theater and Theater Etiquette, The Lion King on Broadway's Theme, The Origins of Theater & started working on their 3-D Animal Masks.
World Music is learning about African Music and Culture. We play the drum, read music rhythms and play drumming games during every class. Students will begin creating their own compositions and we will be learning to accompany a song from The Lion King.
7th Grade Drama
Next week we will quickly study Dramatic Structure. Being able to deconstruct a story into it's smaller parts, is an important skill to have when we enter our Improvisation Unit where we will be building stories.
The Improvisation Unit connects Improvisation skills and Social Emotional Learning Competencies to help the students connect what they learn in Drama class to the rest of the world around them.

8th Grade Drama

Stagecraft-- 8th Grade Edition!
Every Stage Craft class starts with a warm-up activity. The kids come to expect being blind folded, hands tied together, or something out of the ordinary. They look forward to it. They also know that building ensemble is the reason why we are doing it. They need to learn how to work with other people to accomplish these tasks.
This class has learned a lot this year. They have enjoyed learning how to use a drill and a driver. They then were able to take those skills and put them to use building triangles for the Frozen Jr set. They built 3....we need 16! They should expect to see these again soon.
Last class they put down our stage floor. We cover the polished stage floor with a thin wood Masonite floor so that we can paint it, it is better for stage lighting and easier to dance on. The class was able to put it all together and then tape it down.
The New Drama Room
The Drama Room has been renovated this summer. Olaf & Mrs. Kidswater are waiting for you!
A comfortable space to learn, share & grow as students, performers & people.
New decorations that remind us of our past & help us plan for the future.
