Moving?
Do you know that you will be moving over the summer or that your child will be changing schools for the 2022-2023 school year? If so, please call us at 770-978-5560 or email Kelly.Greene@gcpsk12.org to let us know. (Include withdrawal date and where you will be moving.) That way we can prepare your withdrawal packet and have it ready for you. Thanks for your help!
Transportation for 2022-2023
In an effort to prepare for your child’s transportation needs for the 2022-2023 school year please read the important information below. Please submit any Alternate Transportation forms to megan.wilson@gcpsk12.org.
Buses are the fastest and most efficient way for your child to get home from school. Buses dismiss from Craig Elementary beginning at 2:45p. Students in K must be met by an adult at their bus stop. You will find specifics regarding bus stops and times in either the Parent Portal or in eClass under Student Vue. For both of these, you will find bus information under the Student Info tab. If your student is new to GCPS, please contact the school for specific bus information.
If your student will be a Bus rider to home, there is no need to complete any forms
Car Riders, Walkers or Day Care
If they will be a Car rider, Walker or ride a Day Care bus, please complete the Alternate Transportation Parent Authorization form attached below. Leave the Teacher name blank and use their RISING grade, not their current grade. Please email completed forms to megan.wilson@gcpsk12.org.
All car riders must have a Craig ES window cling displayed to pick up students in the Car Rider line. Any person in the Car Rider line without a cling will be asked to park and go to the front desk to check out their student, with photo ID, and purchase a cling. Clings should be displayed on the upper passenger side of the windshield. Car rider numbers are assigned one number per family, not per student, and will be used for the entire time your family is at Craig ES. Clings are 2 for $2 and can be purchased on MyPaymentsPlus, pickup will be arranged before the beginning of the school year. After your initial purchase of 2, additional ones can be purchased from the Front Office for $1 each, cash only. The Car Rider line opens at dismissal, 2:45p.
If your child attends a Day Care, you will need to submit a verification form along with your transportation change form. Although we cannot endorse any individual facility, a list of day care facilities that provide transportation to and from our school can be found in the Day Care section of the Transportation page on our website.
For more information on School Transportation please visit our website or contact Megan Wilson, megan.wilson@gcpsk12.org, 770-978-5560.
Summer Reading Program
Hi all!
The Gwinnett County Public Library has a reading program with incentives and such. It is pretty easy, and Craig has its own account. Once kids do the initial sign-in, they are good to go. Students just click on the link below and enter their student numbers for the username and their 4-digit birthday (mm/dd) to enroll. Super easy!
Gwinnett County Summer Meal Program
Gwinnett County’s Summer Meals Program is back with free grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches from May 31 to Aug. 2. Meals can be picked up curbside at 21 sites from 11:00am to 1:00pm, Monday through Friday — including County holidays — while supplies last. Pick-up locations span the county, including distribution sites in Berkeley Lake, Buford, Dacula, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Loganville, Norcross, Snellville, Stone Mountain and Suwanee. For more information about Gwinnett Summer Meals, please call 770.822.8840 or visit GwinnettSummerMeals.com.
Want to help onsite? Visit VolunteerGwinnett.net for information about volunteering for the Summer Meals Program – all locations are seeking energetic volunteers daily to assist in handing out meals.
