Fun Times in May
We had Teacher Appreciation Week and each day was another opportunity to show our love and gratitude for our staff. Thanks to our HSA for making it a fun week. We also had Cultural Week and each day students were treated to a new experience. Lastly, we had a visit from the author of the book, Mighty Mila. It was a great month of learning and more to come in June. Enjoy the newsletter and all the great moments.
Have a wonderful weekend ahead as we honor the great men and women that served in our U.S. military.

Health Reminders
Sun safety is always in season. Everybody needs some sun exposure to produce vitamin D (which helps calcium absorption for stronger and healthier bones). It’s important to protect your skin from sun damage throughout the year, no matter the weather. Even though sunburns and tan lines fade, sun exposure goes on the permanent health record. Too much sun exposure can cause sunburn, skin aging, eye damage, and skin cancer which is the most common form of cancer in the U.S. (FDA.gov, 2022).
