CHS Marching Panthers Top Winners at Cavalcade of Bands

The CHS Marching Panthers had their best performance of the season and earned 3rd place in their division at the Cavalcade of Band Championships in Hershey. They also were named Best Percussion and Best Color Guard overall!

As if that was not enough, The Marching Panthers received the "Dinkles: Spirit of Band" award. Dinkles is the most popular marching shoe brand, and they sponsored this new award to "acknowledge the band whose students and parents best exemplify School Pride, Friendship, Creativity, Camaraderie and Good Sportsmanship." CHS Marching Panthers Band Director, Mr. Matthew Bernsten commented, "I am incredibly proud of this award as we were only one of two bands that won this among twenty total bands in our division yesterday. Cheltenham students and parents truly are GREAT!" We couldn't agree more.

Cheltenham High School proudly presents the 2014 Fall Play, Woody Allen's Don't Drink the Water. This hilarious play tells the story of a family of American tourists that is trapped in an American embassy behind the Iron Curtain after being accused of spying by the Communist police. Romance blooms, identities are confused, and mayhem ensues. We hope you will join us in CHS's Stretton Hall on November 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults and are available at the door.

CHS Philabundance "Beet" Hunger Food Drive Details

Cheltenham High School continues its commitment to help fill the pantries of Philabundance with non-perishable food items through WMMR’s Preston and Steve’s Annual Camp-Out for Hunger. For one month (November 3 – December 3), students, staff and parents can donate canned food and other non-perishable boxed items through Joseph W. Rodgers Library's Food for Fines program. This traditional food drive is now in its eighth year! The library has Blue and Gold, student-decorated Philabundance boxes which we will pack up and transport to Preston & Steve’s live morning radio show. A group of enthusiastic students have volunteered to pack the van Thursday afternoon, December 4th, while another group will deliver the donations at 6:00 AM Friday morning, December 5th to XFinity Live in South Philadelphia. When the group arrives in the district van, our crates of food will be unloaded and weighed in by WMMR volunteers. Our goal for CHS is to excel in its efforts and donations from previous years; we hope to collect 500+ pounds of food!
