π Writing Celebration
π¬Science Fun!
π¨βπ©βπ¦βπ¦ Family Board - Photos Needed
I am creating a "family" board in our classroom. Please take a moment to send me a photo of your child with their family - this can include just immediate family or grandparents/anyone considered family! I will display these in our classroom on a special board. π You can send in a printed photo, or if you message/email it to me I am more than happy to print it out.
π€ This Week's Learning
π Reading: We learned how to ask questions about our reading and how to discuss our reading with our reading partners.
βοΈ Writing: We edited our books for correct spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. We also shared our Unit 1 writing pieces with Kindergarteners!
π’ Math: We learned about finding the difference between two measurements using a tape diagram to compare.
π¬ Science: We started our first Science unit, where we are learning about engineers. We even had the opportunity to engineer a solution to save a gummy worm named Fred from drowning! Ask your child how they were engineers this week!
πSecond Step Lesson - Try At Home!
In this weekβs lesson, your child learned how to replace an unhelpful thought with a helpful thought so they can keep going when learning feels hard.
Try This at Home
Ask your child how they might change an unhelpful thought into a helpful thought. Encourage them by using helpful thoughts at home.
