Event Information

Concordia Lutheran Packathon

A Packathon is a hands-on service event where participants team together to produce thousands of life-saving meals for hungry children both here and around the world. People ages 5-105 work to assemble together four ingredients: rice, soy protein or pinto beans, dehydrated vegetables, and vitamin powder. These ingredients are repeatedly bagged, weighed, sealed and boxed during a two-hour shift. Feed one child for up to an entire school year in just two hours!

Volunteers needed at the Rowan Public Library!

The project for which RPL needs volunteers is the Salisbury Post Morgue Preservation Project (SPMPP for short). The library has been given the opportunity to preserve this local history resource in its original form!

Helpers are needed for scanning material. Volunteers create digital folders and then scan items into those. This is a repetitive task that requires good concentration and although not difficult work, it needs to be accurate.

Students must be 16+, & must complete Volunteer Form

Scanning stations in 3 locations: Main (Salisbury) branch, South (China Grove) branch, and our West (Cleveland) branch.

Volunteer's needed for the Rowan Public Library!

Saving Grace Farm, Inc

Saving Grace Farm always has opportunities for ongoing volunteers who are interested in horses, helping with children, and helping people with special needs. Volunteers typically do a 1.5-hour training and then help 1 or more hours a week for 8 weeks, continuing if they so choose. These are great opportunities for students to learn about compassion, helping others, giving back. Horses are also great teachers of respect, trust, leadership, and other valuable life skills. If volunteers are looking for a one-time opportunity, we may have options to help do cleaning or organizing projects around the farm. Please contact office@savinggracefarm.com or 704-209-6577 for more information. Volunteer forms can be found on our website at www.savinggracefarm.com.
