Updates
Ho, Ho, Ho! 5 more to go!
This is going to be a very fun and exciting week—so many great things are planned for you and for the children. Please remind the students that in order for these things to happen, we have to follow LEAD, complete all classwork and be respectful. For so many of our students this is a very anxious and unhappy time.
Thank you for seeking to understand and for treating each situation on an individual basis. If you need us to intervene, please let us know. We are here to help and support and make sure the week run smoothly.
Kelly, Jason and I have a very busy week, too. We have so many reports, meetings, recommendations and parent conferences to complete before Friday. We are all here everyday this week. If one of us is unavailable, someone will be available to help and assist.
Secret Santa starts today. Thank you, Mim for organizing this event. Final reveal is Friday. Let the elfing begin!
Please follow the holiday close out procedures that were sent to you earlier.
We are required to professional development on Friday. Jason is in charge of this PD. PTA will provide lunch. Our PD will begin promptly at 1:00. Our day will conclude at 3:30. Please have your room packed up, closed up, all food thrown out, desks cleaned out, blinds closed and all valuables taken home before you leave.
Every grade level and department needs to have representation at our Holiday Performance tomorrow night. Please make sure that everyone shares equally in the rotation of these night events.
Let’s go to the MOVIES. We are all excited about this annual tradition. Please remind your students that going to the movies is a privilege that is earned. We will have someone prepared to stay back with those children who can not attend.
Please encourage your class to keep their skills sharp by using Achieve, Imagine Learning and Ten Marks over the holidays. The class with the highest participation over the holidays will be rewarded and the student with the most minutes logged in will also be recognized. GAME ON!
Assessments begin almost as soon as we come back from the holidays. Cortney will provide you with the testing schedule before you leave for the holidays.
The focus of our Monday, January 4 staff meeting, will be curriculum integrating planning. Cortney will be responsible for organizing this meeting. If Lighthouse team members have any questions, please let Cortney know.
We will have a very important Faculty Meeting on January 11.
The focus of this meeting is our School Improvement Plan. Remember, as we go into the next semester that all Mondays should be held in reserve for faculty meetings.
The Christmas Pickles are Back!
We will hide the pickles starting at 9am and each hour a new pickle will be hidden somewhere on campus! Just like the tradition of the hidden pickle on the CHRISTMAS TREE if you are the person that finds a lucky pickle you will be given a free period on Tuesday from 2:00-2:30 (unless you are 4th grade and we will rearrange another time)! Please bring all found pickles to the office so we can arrange which administrator will be covering your class! Happy Hunting! (This year we ask that you do not send children out to hunt. Only teachers. Thanks for understanding! :) )
Please take a few moments to ask your students if they have chickens at home. Let us know as soon as possible if they do! We're gearing up for a grant presentation. Thank you!
We have a required training on January 19th. Please vote here to make your preference known.
