Notes from Gina
Dear Families,
This week we wrapped up a fun week full of teacher celebration. Thanks to our families for showing so much kindness and love to our teachers. A special thanks to the PTO for sponsoring the many food celebrations and bringing joy to the school. The PTO president Jessye Bruner even arrived at school earlier than the Principal to deliver donuts! Thanks so much to our wonderful community.
At this time, I don't have any updates from the district regarding the Middle School Boundry proposal, and a School Board Meeting date regarding a decision has not yet been set. However, I received a few questions lately about Board Meetings. Parents can attend school board meetings. You can find more information and other details on the Parkway School District Board of Education website here.
Finally, the staff and I would like to wish all Mothers a very special Happy Mother's Day!! I look forward to spending Mother's Day with my son Alex. He is 23 years old, and he never feels like he's too old to celebrate with me. As always, please contact me if you have any questions or thoughts I can help with.
Have a great weekend!
Gina

INFORMATION FOR EVERYONE
PIERREMONT FIELD DAY
In keeping with tradition, Pierremont will have a modified version of Field Day on May 14, 2021 (rain date is May 21st.). This year field day will take place during your child’s specials class. Mrs. Forrest, Mrs. Schaefer, Mrs. Wallace, and Mrs. Skiba will be outside running the stations/ activities. Be sure your child brings a hat and their water bottle!
For our virtual families, Open Physed created more amazing activities. (You might remember they provided the wonderful virtual field day activities we used last spring.) These activities need easily acquired materials while even providing a link to minute challenge music. On May 14, we ask that in place of zooming into class, take this time to participate in these Minute to Win activities. Click here for the Minute to Win field day activities.
On our Facebook page, @PierremontHPE, we will be posting pictures and videos throughout the day. In addition, we are asking virtual families to share pictures/videos to our Facebook page.
We are excited about Pierremont Field Day 2021 and hope you are too! Good Luck!
LIBRARY LOWDOWN
As we wrap up another amazing school year, I wanted to let you know of some important dates for the library. The last week to check out books is May 10-14th. All books need to be returned by May 20th so that I can begin inventory. I will begin sending email reminders after May 20th for unreturned books. Please let me know if you have any questions or need to take care of unpaid fines due to lost or damaged books.
Thank you for sharing your child with me this year! Don't forget to keep reading over the summer! All of our digital resources are available 24/7!

Middle School Boundary Proposal
If you were not able to attend the Middle School Boundry Proposal seminar this past Tuesday, the meeting was recorded, and the topics included were:
- More information based on the questions and feedback the district is receiving.
- Time to answer questions from parents and staff during the meeting
- More discussion of the high school impact of any boundary change. The district proposed the students from Pierremont attend West High School.
At Pierremont we know many questions and concerns remain. You can keep updated on district communications, view recorded webinars, and submit questions or concerns through the Parkway website here. Also never hesitate to reach out to me by phone at 314-415-6601 or email.
