Message from Principal
Dear Country Dale Families,
As we continue to evolve and grow in the Franklin Public Schools virtual learning environment, we continue to look for ways to engage your children as we did when we were in the classroom. Part of the responsibility of educating your child is assessment and reporting practices. You may have already had teachers reach out on how they will be working with your child to assess their progress and provide meaningful feedback to them. Teachers are monitoring the work that your child is sharing and will be conferring with your child during the times they have scheduled to meet virtually. Check-in times will also be a time they will assess as students finish a unit. Assessment may take a variety of forms, from paper/pencil to listening in to reading.
After reviewing all the learning your child has shared with their teachers, their teacher will inform you of their progress through Powerschool as they would if we were in school. Teachers will also be emailing ahead of the meetings any information needed to be prepared for each meeting. So please watch for the emails and ensure your child is organized and prepared.
Thank you again as we work through making “school” as normal as we can for you and your children. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher or principal.
Sincerely,
Shaunna LaPlant
Country Dale Principal
COUNTRY DALE ABC COUNTDOWN
Hello Country Dale Families,
It is hard to believe that the end of the year is quickly approaching. It has become a custom at Country Dale to end our school year with the ABC Countdown. To help us have a feeling of togetherness, Stu Cru Leaders, Mrs. Buelow and Mrs. Tavs thought it would be fun for everyone (staff, students, and their families) to continue this tradition. We hope this helps change up the daily routine some.
Click End of Year ABC Countdown for a schedule of all the fun! Each day gives a different letter and activity!! Please pause sometime during each day and snap a picture. Photos can be sent to Ms. Tubbs at terese.tubbs@franklin.k12.wi.us so we can share all the fun we are having with Country Dale families in the weekly CD Bulletin!!
We wish you all good health and miss everyone terribly!!

ES3 PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The Country Dale ES3 team would like to share a new feature with you called Happy Home. Each week we will pass along some tips to help keep your home as happy and healthy as possible during Safer at Home. ES3 is a three-year state-funded grant program with the mission of improving outcomes for students who require social and emotional support. We can ALL use social and emotional supports, especially now, so we hope you enjoy it!
Hello Families,
Research suggests that we need movement roughly every 2 hours to stay focused and to keep our bodies regulated. Now that it is certain we are not going back to school physically this year, we thought it would be nice to have a list of movement activities at your fingertips so that your child and family can continue to receive the movement we all need!
We have compiled a list of Indoor Movement Activities for you to use with your child. It is a simple list of movement breaks to incorporate into your child’s day.
Pick a new one each day, each week, one in the morning or one at night??? Be creative and use as you wish. Some may work for your family, while others may not. Our goal is to give you and your family a variety of movement activities to choose from. We even put the movement breaks onto a Bingo card for your family to do on game nights!

TEACHER REQUESTS FOR 2020-21
As we look at the calendar we are reminded that the last few months of the school year are fast approaching. We would like to make you aware of some important information regarding your child’s placement for next year.
Several factors are used to develop class lists including: learning styles, academic and social skills, talents, groupings, balances, special needs, and class sizes. All teachers including music, physical education, art, speech, special education, reading and ESL have an opportunity for input into class lists.
While we are not able to accommodate teacher requests or specific student/friendship placements, please reach out to your child’s current teacher if there is something you feel they should keep in mind as they create lists for next year. You can also contact Mrs. LaPlant if you feel it is necessary. We ask that any pertinent information is shared with teachers or Mrs. LaPlant by May 15th as teachers will soon be working on lists and it is difficult to make changes once the work is done.
Be assured teachers have the “big picture” and will make the best classroom choices for all our students. Also, keep in mind that each child and grade level class as a whole is different from year to year. Please understand that younger siblings may not have the same teacher as their older siblings have had.
Thank you for your cooperation as we make these complex decisions.
