OCT 16TH NATIONAL BOSS'S DAY

A note from Mrs. Grimm
I was able to attend a career pathway day at NICC with the sophomore class on Tuesday, October 18th. Students were able to select areas of interest to hear about during the day. Some of the tracks they could select were health care, business, industrial tech, ag and general studies for transfer. Each group had a tour of the campus and were able to talk to faculty and students about their college experience. Students received valuable information from the trip. Next week, the junior class will be headed to NIACC to tour the campus and explore different pathways for post secondary studies.
This week we learned that RCS is the recipient of a $10,000 grant from FEMC. The grant will be used to purchase new K-12 physical education equipment. Two gaga pits will be purchased with part of the money. Gaga is a gentler game of dodge ball. The game originated in Israel and is now popular around the world. As a district we are very grateful for the generosity of the FEMC to help purchase items that go above and beyond for our students.

PBIS Update
On Friday, October 14th the middle and high schoolers participated in a PBIS reward by playing quad ball and having ice cream. Ninety-nine percent of the middle and high schoolers were able to participate. For elementary, the PBIS store will be opening this week. Students are excited to spend their Paw tickets.
The PBIS team has a December incentive reward of going to a movie theater! The goal is to have fewer than five minors or only one major in the next nine weeks of school. Each nine weeks the students have a clean slate. We are very hopeful that we will have a high number for students attending.
