There is a fourth "R" that is becoming more and more evident at Lago Vista High School.
The fourth "R" is "Responsibility."
It is an education in itself.
Students are asked to be "responsible" with their time. Do not be tardy, do not leave early, and do not skip are reminders of the responsibilities every time a bell rings. Students are tasked with meeting due dates. Students are held responsible for dressing appropriately and behaving maturely. Students are told to turn forms in by a certain deadline.
When students do not meet these demands, then they are "responsible" for serving the consequences.
I am "responsible" to being systematically disciplined enough to make sure we are teaching the fourth "R" here at Lago Vista High School.

Stu Taylor

G/T Fall Referrals for Students in Grades 1-12 extended to October 15th
Parents of students in grades 1-12 who consent to having their child screened for the
Lago Vista ISD Gifted & Talented Education Program should complete a referral form and return it the student's school by October 15.
Note: Parent consent is obtained each spring for all kindergarten students, so referrals for G/T screening are not accepted for students in kindergarten.
To access the referral form, please visit the Lago Vista ISD Gifted & Talented website at http://www.lagovistaisd.net/page/curr.ins_GT.
Attendance Matters.
Our schoolwide attendance goal for this year is 97%. Our state funding is based on the percentage of students at school at 10:15 am every day. Higher attendance rate = more money for resources for your student.
For students who exceed our 96% goal, we are planning some more exciting rewards this year, such as a movie in the PAC, Kona Ice, and exam exemptions!
For students who miss school, here is some very important attendance information:
3 or more unexcused absences in a 4 week period - warning letter sent home and phone call from the principal.
10 or more unexcused absences in a 6 month period - truancy charges are filed. Parent, student and school administrator will be summoned to appear in truancy court.
Our campus goal is to reach 97% attendance each day.
Thanks for your support!
