Principal's ROAR
Dear Wengert families,
We hope this message finds you safe and healthy during this time. In light of the governor’s recent announcement that schools would be closed for the rest of the year, we wanted to reach out to all of you at this time and provide information for our school and District.
Please call the school should you need anything. Our office staff is ready and available to help with anything you need.
As the administrators of our school, we want to extend our thanks to all of you for the work you are doing during this time to keep your child engaged in their education, communicating with their teachers, and completing their assignments during distance learning. We want to thank you for answering your phones, your messages, and caring so much about your child or children’s education. We know it isn’t easy during this time balancing the challenges of parenting and in many cases working from home. This is such a stressful time and we understand the challenges you are facing and want to make this time as easy as possible on our families but also ensure that we are continuing to provide high-quality lessons and learning throughout school closure. Please know that we as a school family are here to support you.
As of this last Wednesday, schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year. We are saddened that we will not be able to teach your children in the school building and working hard to design lessons and learning activities for your children to do at home while the buildings are closed.
Please see the important information provided to you throughout this newsletter. Please go to our website for all student activities and lessons at the following website:

In conclusion, all of us at Wengert hope that you are safe and healthy during this time. We appreciate our parents who are answering our phone calls, responding to messages, and ensuring their children are completing their distance learning assignments at this time. If you have any issues or problems with accessing your child’s assignments during this time, please call your child’s teacher or the school so we can assist you.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Swoboda, Principal

Semester 2 Grades and Report Cards
Kindergarten-Grade 5 Students-Semester Two Grades
Semester two gradebooks for elementary students reopened based on direction from the District to provide opportunities for students to make-up work, provide missing assignments, and demonstrate mastery of the learning standards taught prior to school closures. Any improvements to an existing grade will be included in the cumulative grade within each subject. Standards/strands not taught during the second semester should not have a newly assigned grade.
All missing work or additional assignments must be completed and turned in to the teachers by Thursday, May 14th.
Report Cards
Report Cards will be mailed on May 21, 2020, to students and families. All report cards will have a standard comment provided by the District. Grades will only show for standards taught prior to school closure.
Yearbooks
Yearbooks: If you ordered a yearbook this year, you will not be able to receive the yearbook until schools are able to reopen. We will keep the yearbook at school and once our deliveries begin again, and will contact families as soon as we are allowed to distribute them.
End of Year Awards
We are currently asked to wait on these plans for guidance from the District. We know how important it is to recognize our students for their achievements and hope to share our plan with you soon.
Stay tuned for more information.
