PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear SFX Family,
Welcome to the new school year! We have had a great start the past two days. Tomorrow, we look forward to having all students on campus for a full day. We will also celebrate our first School Mass of the year at 9:00 A.M. Please join us if you are able. If you do come, please enter the church through the doors by the Adoration Chapel under the porte cochere.
Thank you to all who attended Back to School Night and Blessing of the Backpacks. It was really nice to kick off the school year with information and a blessing.

FR. JOE'S TUESDAY UPDATE
SFX School Community,
Tuesday Greetings. Thanks to our Knights, Home & School, Mike Wibel and our School Administrative Staff for the outstanding ministry done over the last few days. Our school is up and running -- glory to God!
Items of interest: Bereavement Groups are meeting today at 12 noon and 6:30 pm. The Sharing Program Kick-off and Sign-up is tomorrow from 10 am - 12 noon. The Planning Meeting for our Parish's 100th Anniversary is tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm. The first Men's Club Meeting of the new year is Thursday at 6:30 pm in the breezeway next to the Cafeteria.
There are several additions to our List of Upcoming Events, including a Young Adult Gathering, a CYO Leaders Breakfast, a Men's Purity Retreat, and the "Lifemark" Pro-Adoption Movie.

ATHLETICS NEWS
We are excited to announce that Flag Football, Volleyball, and Cross Country are returning for the fall sports season. If your child/ren are interested in any of the fall sports please fill out the google forms below so that we may make sure your start receives all team communication, even if you have been attending practices please fill these out.
Flag Football:
- Flag Football is available to all students in grades 4-7.
- Tryouts will be Tuesday, August 16th, Wednesday, August 17th, and Thursday, August 18th.
- Practices will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at Pontiff Playground or the Mansfield Auditorium.
- The players will walk to Pontiff with their coaches following school.

Volleyball:
- Volleyball is available to all girls in grades 4-7.
- Tryouts will be Thursday, August 18th and Friday, August 19th in the Mansfield Auditorium.
- Practices will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in the Mansfield Auditorium.

Cross Country:
- Cross Country is available to all students grades 3-7.
- Practice will begin August 22nd and practices will be Mondays and Wednesday.

The deadline for the Birthday Book Program for PreK4 through 7th grade has been extended to this Friday, August 19.
Please complete this form and pay for your child's book on the First Bank and Trust Portal if you would like your child to participate in this program,

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL REMINDERS
- Thank you for your cooperation with our new procedures!
- Please familiarize yourself with the Arrival & Dismissal procedures that were sent out. They are also on the FACTS Family Portal under Resource Documents and linked below.
- We also ask that you share them with anyone who may drop off or pick up for your family.
GENERAL REMINDERS
- All volunteers must be up-to-date with Safe Environment training and background check. You can take the class or renew online at www.virtus.org.
- Early check-outs are not allowed past 2:30 PM on a regular day or 1:00 PM on an early dismissal day. Please only use early check-outs when absolutely necessary.
- If anyone in your immediate family tests positive for COVID-19, please notify Ms. Dwyer immediately. You can call the school, 833-1471, or email if after hours.
- Students should be kept home if they have any symptoms and their doctor should be consulted. Please do not assume it is allergies or a cold or send them to school after giving medication.
