It took a little while, but we are here! We want to thank you for being a member of NCAAHE and we are working to make your membership meaningful and worthwhile for you. We hope you find this newsletter helpful and a resource for your classroom, no matter the grade level you work with.

In this volume you will find an opportunity to share your ideas to make NCAAHE better, get involved with a leadership committee, and access FREE professional development opportunities.

We Need YOU!

Are you looking to get involved but aren't sure how? We are currently forming committees and need members who are interested in helping NCAAHE grow, engage more members, and be a more meaningful professional membership. Below is a list of our current committees and a link for you to submit your interest if you would like to get involved. We look forward to YOU being involved!

  1. Community Outreach: This committee will work with community organizations that are aligned with our mission. They will develop programs and partnerships to use as resources for NCAAHE and it's members.
  2. HELP (Health Education Leadership & Promotion): This committee will work with various groups, including SHAPE America, to advocate for Health Education, Teachers, and the various populations we serve.
  3. Region Leadership Team: This committee will work find various PD opportunities offered at the state and national level, as well as, online opportunities. Additionally, they will collaborate with other NCAAHPERD-SM sub-organizations (such as PEA, Student Majors, Athletics, etc.) on joint projects.
  4. Health Notes: This, in a nutshell, is out communications committee. You will put together the monthly newsletter, share things that are going on with our members from around the state, and helping with some of our social media.

The mission of NCAAHE is to promote and encourage the advancement of Health and Health Education by providing a structure for the encouragement, support and assistance of persons interested in the development and conduct of effective health education programs in educational institutions and other community settings.
