Fall: October/November
By this time my blood type is pumpkin spice...☕️
“It’s the first day of autumn! A time of hot chocolatey mornings, and toasty marshmallow evenings, and, best of all, leaping into leaves!” — Winnie the Pooh
As we move into the cold crisp days of fall, I hope you take the time to enjoy the special family moments that come with this time of the year. I have so many memories of my kids in grade school creating turkey "hand" art, leaping in leaf piles, gathering at the kitchen table to play board games, and bundling up to go feed our horses. We were a football family- with many hours spent on the field and sideline. Now my children are married and we spend as much time as we can visiting all of them, including our grandson. Time goes so quickly! I hope you all soak in your special moments as fall finally settles in.
Happy fall! 🌰 🍂

Gorilla Staff Happenings
Our focus on learning never stops: Even Halloween!
"When teachers examine the standards in isolation, each teacher is likely to interpret the intent and rigor differently. This results in a different level of student expectations and quality of instruction from class to class."
Maria Nielsen
Davenport Elementary teachers believe that it should not matter which teacher your student has- every teacher has the clarity of what is expected and the support of their team to reach the expected rigor using best practice methods. We are continually leveling the playing field for all our students!
Pictured below: Staff working through the "unpacking standard" of creating a paper airplane and competing to fly them against another team. A little fun and a little learning! Happy Halloween!
