What an amazing week, and year, this has been! I want to especially thank Ms. Birozes for our fun Field Days this week. Field days would not have been a success without the help of parent volunteers and especially our PTO Board members, Monique Somervell and Pam Bloch. Thank you, Monique, for all you did to make sure the Field Day shirts were organized and distributed!
Speaking of PTO, we will be having a fun meet and greet this summer at the picnic grounds behind the Berkeley Lake Chapel on July 22nd at 6:00pm. We hope to have a very active PTO next year and this will be a great time to get to know some other parents and find out how YOU can help PTO.
Thank you again for a great year and have a safe and fun Summer Break!

- A huge thank you to all the volunteers that have worked tirelessly on the 5th grade promotion this year! You have all outdone yourselves.
A special thank you to the parent volunteers who made up the PTO core planning committee for the 5th grade celebration activities. The work with teachers, administrators and other volunteers who've worked on various committees has helped us give our 5th graders special memories as they head off to middle school. We wish our 5th graders and their families the best of luck as they move to the next chapter of their lives.

School Supply Kits for Next Year
We Are Going to Need Room Parents Next Year:
Start Schedule for Next School Year
- Students in Pre K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade will start next year off in-person on Wednesday, August 3
- Students in grades 2 - 5 will start next school year off with a Digital Learning Day on Wednesday, August 3rd and then come to school in-person on Thursday, August 4th.
Why the staggered start? Having only the younger students in the building on the first day allows for more staff to be available for support and helps to make the transition for the younger students less chaotic and stressful.
Is Your Child Going to Need to Borrow a Device and/or Hotspot for Next Year?
If you know your child will need to borrow a Chromebook and/or Wi-Fi hotspot for next year, especially prior to the Digital Learning Day for 2nd - 5th grade on August 3rd, be sure to check back to the BLES website ahead of time or click here to submit your request for next year now. Devices will be available for pick up on Meet Your Teacher Day on Friday, July 29th IF A REQUEST IS PUT IN AHEAD OF TIME.
Please note: Devices will not be loaned out to students with existing fines, until the fines are paid.
Field Day Thank You's and Shout Outs from Ms. Birozes!
What a great week - from the dry sunny weather to the fantastic outcome of volunteer help!!
Thank you to the Tuesday set-up crew of Scott, Jason, Kevin, Katie A. (a fellow parent P.E teacher), Kristen and Lawayne. Your help was so valuable and allowed me to go home at a reasonable time rather than being at school till all hours of the morning!!!
Special shout outs and thank you's go to our wonderful supportive PTO! Monique Somerval was the backbone of organizing our Field Day T-shirts, popsicles and getting our numbered field day stakes and signs ready, as well as organizing our welcome table and cute name tags!!
Pam Bloch was our super computer whiz creating the sign up genius for our volunteers and deleting and adding to keep up with the counts and the communication to our BLES community. I'd also like to thank Trina Ashadele, one of our very own awesome teachers here at the Lake for all of her help with communication!!
Finally, BIG THANK YOU's to all our supportive parent volunteers, our BLES alumni of Sasha Zuberi (college student at Georgia Tech), and Ryan Shaw, (a UGA student) and our very own Ben Harkness (student at Coleman Middle and son of Rodrigo Marangi, our clinic nurse!!)
Looking forward to "hiring" you all for next year's field days!!
Love you all and have a Safe, Fun and active summer!!

As they head off to middle school, we hope they will continue to be a part of community clubs, like the middle school Builders Club. We look forward to greeting our new members and they will be posted on Class Dojo.
You can pay the fine using any of the following methods:
- paying cash up in the front office
- by sending in a check
- through MyPaymentsPlus using these directions
Please note that there are four digital learning days scheduled on next year's calendar and 3rd - 5th grade students will start the new year with a digital learning day, so it is important any fines are paid ahead of time or we will not be able to fulfill any new request for technology equipment next year.
