Holiday Collection
For several years, students and families at Banner have generously donated money towards the purchase of toys and clothing items for families needing assistance. This year we shall once again collect money to purchase toys for children in our community. From now through December 11, money will be collected for this project. On Friday, December 15, our entire school will visit local stores and shop for toys/clothing items using the money collected. Then the students will deliver the toys to the Children’s Home of Peoria. Our goal is to raise $5,000 for this great cause.
If you wish to donate money, please send your contribution to your child’s classroom teacher between now and December 11. It would also be helpful to send the money in an envelope marked with “Holiday Collection.” Checks can be made out to Banner Elementary.
Specific information regarding this all school activity will be provided closer to the trip. All students will be included in the activity whether or not they wish to participate in the voluntary contribution of money.
As of this very moment, our total amount collected is $647. Thank you for any contributions you are able to donate to this amazing cause.

DHS Smart Cookie Sales!
The Dunlap High School Life Skills class will once again be coming to schools to sell fresh cookies. There is one cookie in a bag and it sells for $.50. The cookies come in chocolate chip and M&M. This program at DHS teaches the students the skills they will need to live as independently as possible and be contributing members of their communities. The cookie business provides an opportunity to practice both vocational and social skills in a real life setting. The proceeds from the sales go towards buying groceries to use for weekly cooking lessons and allow students to go to different places to learn how to navigate and access the community.
Cookies for Sale at Banner on Friday, December 1 at 1:30 PM. Cost will be $.50 for 1 large cookie, chocolate chip or M&M.
