VQ Day
Celebrating Vocational Achievement
What is VQ Day
VQ celebrates vocetional achievment and the benefits of practical, technical and vocational learning.
When is VQ Day
The eighth annual VQ Day will be on Wednesday 10th June 2015.
Why we do VQ Day
We believe that vocational qualifications deserve the same accolades and level of recognition that academic qualifications receive. There are GCSE and A-Level results days so why not a day to celebrate VQs? Hence VQ Day!
Vocational qualifications have never been more important to the economy and the individual; they deliver the trained, talented employees businesses are crying out for and ensure young people have the skills needed to succeed in education and work.
The government is investing in vocational routes acknowledging their value, now we want everyone to come together to recognise how high quality VQs can enhance life and work chances.
Who is VQ Day
VQ Day is led by independent education charity, the Edge Foundation, with support from many of the leading players in the vocational education community.
Edge is committed to raising the status of technical, practical and vocational learning across the UK. Sign up on the VQ website to keep up to date with their activities and projects.
How is VQ Day so successful
VQ Day is only so successful due to the hundreds of schools, colleges, work-based providers, employers, teachers and learners getting involved across the country.
There are many ways for you to be a part of VQ Day, putting on events, nominating learners and employers and signing up to the VQ Roll Call and VQ Yearbook are just some of them.
