MAY 2022
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
I appreciate the opportunity to provide my first Presidents message. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Linda Whitmire for her leadership as President over the last several year and I know I have big shoes to fill. I would also like to thank the rest of the board that has provided leadership and guidance for our board over the past year, Paula Ayers as VP, Sharon Utych as Secretary, Carolyn Powell as Treasurer and Mark Fitchpatrick and LaVada McCosh as 2 of our three Directors. All of these folks have agreed to continue for the next year in their current roles. The only change to the board is Linda will transition to my director role and I have moved into this role.
I am looking forward to the next 12 months as we have lots of fun events planned leading up to our specialty in early 2023. The first being our get-together on Sunday, June 26th at Paula Ayers's home for a puppy playtime (older dogs also welcome) and sitting around socializing. We are also planning a get together at the Utych’s home in September with the theme and date still to be determined and rounding out 2022 with our Christmas party in December where we hone our member of the year (look for nomination requests to come out later in the year along with the membership renewal packets) and recognizing any membership milestones that have been achieved in 2022. And after our Specialty weekend, we will once again have our Puppy Picnic with a day full of events.
Thank you to the nominating committee and the membership in putting their trust in me to provide the leadership for a club filled with a great bunch of people.
Thanks
Jim Utych, President

2023 WINTER SPECIALTY SHOW
Mr. Mark Smith (Aranel UK) will be judging our regular classes and NOHS on Saturday and Mr. Mark Sedgwick (Pascavale UK) will be judging our Beginner Puppy and regular classes and NOHS on Sunday. Our Saturday sweepstakes judge will be Mr. David Frederick (Twickenham US), judging veterans and puppy sweepstakes.
The club website has been updated with all the current information about the specialty and placement sponsorships are also available on the website. Club members' generosity in sponsoring placement helps us offset the costs of paying for the judges traveling expenses, rosettes, and prizes. Please consider sponsoring a placement! We are also looking to see if anyone would like to help and create a pdf/jpg flyer for us to help advertise our specialty on Facebook and share with other clubs.
We have a STELLAR judging panel of world-renowned cavalier breeder judges for our specialty shows and would like to support them with a fabulous entry! Please let club president Jim Utych know if you would like to assist! (email: jim.utych@firstgroup.com)
Additionally, if you would like to donate a basket for our basket auction at the specialty be sure to start thinking about what type of “theme” basket you could donate! The club will “circle back” and ask who can donate later this fall.
