November News
Note From Miss Rutan:
As we embrace the festive spirit, we are thrilled to share some exciting upcoming events at our school that will fill the holiday season with joy and celebration. Our holiday programs promise to be delightful showcases of the incredible talents our students have been honing throughout the semester. Additionally, get ready for a unique adventure as our Writers Workshop transforms into our very own North Pole, sparking creativity and imagination. To add to the holiday cheer, we have some fun dress-up days planned for the four weeks leading up to the break, creating memorable moments for our students. The highlight of our celebrations will be the much-anticipated Celebration Walk on December 22nd at 3:30. This special event is not just about individual achievements but also about our collective success in reaching the school goal of ensuring our students can articulate their learning intentions. We look forward to sharing these proud moments with you and celebrating the achievements of our wonderful school community.
If you have any questions, or concerns please contact me at rutan.katie@westada.org or by phone at (208) 350-4190.

Important Events and Information
Holiday Dress-Up Days
We have four Fridays that will have some festive flair this year. Each year our teachers dress up differently throughout the countdown to the break and we would love to have the students participate in the following days.
December 1 - Holiday Festive Attire
December 8 - Christmas Character Day
December 15 - Winter Writing Workshop - Cozy Pajama Day
December 22 - Merry and Bright
Please remember that dress up attire should follow dress code and not distract from the learning environment for the student or those around them.

End of Semester Celebration Walk
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming End of Semester Celebration Walk scheduled for December 22nd, just before the close of the day. This special event is designed to give our students a well-deserved opportunity to commemorate their accomplishments throughout the year. We extend a warm invitation to parents to join us in lining the outside breezeway, creating a festive tunnel as our students parade to the gym, each proudly displaying posters that showcase their achievements. Following the parade, we will have parents gather at the back of the gym for a collective celebration, reflecting on our school goals and sending off our students with a sense of achievement as they head into the holiday break. Our aim is to place our learning experiences at the heart of our festivities, uniting students, parents, and educators in a joyous celebration of the semester's successes. The celebration will begin at approximately 3:30.

Parking Lot Procedures
Appreciation is extended to all who have diligently followed our parking lot procedures. While overall compliance has been commendable, we have identified two areas requiring special attention: the side fire lane and the front entrance.
A gentle reminder: student drop-off and pick-up should exclusively occur in the front of the building, and not at the side fire lane.
Additionally, we kindly request heightened awareness at the entrance. The middle lane is designated to remain open, not for left-hand turns, but for those entering the parking lot with intentions to park, separate from the pick-up line. If your intention is to turn left upon exiting, we ask that you keep to the right and patiently await your turn. Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
