Pleasantville Elementary has continued to improve year after year in achievement results on the Iowa Assessments, posting higher numbers than the State of Iowa and our Heartland AEA averages. Here is a quick summary of the results:

Reading: 89.7% of 3rd-5th graders are proficient. That's 6.7% better than 2015 and 9% better than 2014. Nearly 36% of our elementary students scored "Advanced" in reading!

Math: 86% of 3rd-5th graders are proficient. That's a slight decrease from last year (-1%) but over 5% higher than in 2013 and 2014. Over 38% of our elementary students scored "Advanced" in math!

Science: 91% of 3rd-5th graders are proficient. That's 0.7% better than last year and 2.3% better than 2014. Nearly 33% of our elementary students scored "Advanced" in science!
