We are reading The Hobbit and Tuck Everlasting.
- We can determine the meaning of words and phrases, as they are used in a text, including figurative language.
- We can describe how a narrator's point of view influences how events are described.
Week of June 6
We will be celebrating Riderwood's 50th birthday on Monday with a 9:00 AM presentation focusing on the decades of its existence. Fifth grade students will represent the 1960's. Students are invited to dress in 1960's fashion. There will be a special evening presentation at 6:00 PM.
The Variety Show will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
Field Day will be held on Thursday. The school-wide picnic lunch begins at 11:45. Please remember that the cafeteria will NOT be open on this day. All students should bring a bagged lunch and a towel or blanket on which to sit. Parents are invited to dine alfresco with your children.
*Afternoon volunteers are still needed for this event. Please consider donating some time to this event. Your children cannot wait for Field Day!
Hawaiian/ Caribbean Spirit Day is on Friday.
