Steve Sheinkin’s Visit…..
…is two months away. Steve shares: “Often during school visits, while I’m describing the labor intensive process of finding and researching stories for my books, a student will say, “So, you do homework for a living?” I’ve learned to counter the charge by telling students that what I do is really more like detective work.”
Steve has a passion for history, and his books cover a variety of historical periods (the American Revolution, Civil War, Westward Expansion) and subjects (the making of the atomic bomb, the beginnings of the Secret Service and its relationship to counterfeiting, Benedict Arnold, and even two graphic novels combining the Wild West with Jewish wisdom).
I’d love it if our students were familiar with his work before he arrives. Is there a book or a chapter that fits in your curriculum? I’ll even help you find a good excerpt to use!
